Ragtime is an Elite mini-boss added in the Vanity Update. He is one of the two Elites found in Tomb, the other being Dungo. Like the other Elites he can be found in 2x1, 1x2 or 2x2 rooms.

Behaviour

Ragtime doesn't attack directly, instead, he relies on his backup dancers to attack the player, and putting on a show.

Phase 1

Ragtime will spawn after a brief moment upon the player entering the room, along with two groups of his backup dancers.

In this phase, Ragtime is always leading his army of dancing mummies.

  • He slowly moves across the room while dancing, being followed by a conga line of his backup dancers.
    • The backup dancers move in a trail by doing small hops as they strike various poses. They follow Ragtime or a look-alike of him.
  • Another group of backup dancers may be arranged in a square shape. This whole group does a huge leap across the room, indicating with reticules the places where they land.
    • If Ragtime leads this group, he'll quickly move to a random zone in the room, staying in the middle of where the backup dancers land; Once they do, Ragtime moves to another place in the room and so on.
  • All backup dancers will fire a bloodshot aimed at the player in unison commanded by Ragtime.

Once the first lifebar is depleted, the screen cuts to Ragtime celebrating and bowing to an unseen audience, then he applies a buff to himself and his companions, thus entering his second phase.

Phase 2

In this phase the arena is iluminated by purple lights and all enemies have a slight change in their behaviours.

  • Ragtime is now on his own; he moves across the room faster, trying to stay away from the player.
  • The backup dancers perform the same movements of the first phase but faster.
    • All backup dancers now shoot a homing tear at the player in unison by themselves.

From time to time, the lights will turn off and on during the battle, teleporting the player and Ragtime to different corners in the room, and rearranging the groups of backup dancers. It takes less time for this to occur in phase 2.

When Ragtime is defeated for the second time, the screen cuts to him all beat-up and staggering, then does a gesture and gets pulled off-stage by a hook, thus ending the battle.
