The Mirror Room is a special room that always spawns in Glacier and Tomb. It is where the player fights Narcissus in Glacier and Narcissus 2 on Tomb. The floor of the room is reflective, showing the player, the boss, tears, and any enemies that spawn. You are unable to bomb out of the boss fight once you are in, so make sure you are prepared!

The Mirror Room is not visible on the minimap, and the minimap view in the Mirror Room shows a blank. The Mirror Room, the Narcissus bosses, and the mirror items (Mirror Shard, Mirror Fragment) ties into Chapters Two and Three of Revelations to create a multi-item, such as Key Piece 1 and Key Piece 2 are needed to fight Mega Satan. But as Chapter Three has not yet been released, the only benefit for going into the Mirror Room is the Mirror Shard and Mirror Fragment items.

Looking into the mirror and facing one's self seems to be the theme for this boss fight. For more extensive information on the Narcissus Boss fight that takes place in the Mirror Room, see Narcissus and Narcissus II.

Accessing

In any Revelation floor, a mirror door can be found glowing in a random room.

Unlike the vanilla game's mirror, which becomes unusable after being destroyed, an explosive force such as a bomb is necessary to open the mirror door. An ominous sound is then heard to warn the player of the danger within, and thus signifies access to the room. Once the player enters into the mirror room, the fight against its respective Narcissus will begin.

However, it is also possible to enter the mirror room without breaking it, by purchasing the white fire chest in Prank's shop located in the second floor (or simply entering it directly as The Lost).

If this is done, once the fight against Narcissus is over, a book-resembling door will appear in the mirror room. This door will lead to a special double-sized secret room that contains an extra reward, which differs depending on the chapter the player is in.

Glacier's secret room

This room shows a frozen, giant Satan with his lower body imprisioned beneath the ice, holding a free Devil Deal item in his hands.

There are also various enemies trapped in ice in the room (these are purely cosmetical, they can be bombed but don't drop anything in return).

Tomb's secret room

The room contains seven stone sarcophagi; six of them are closed, placed in the sides of the room and the seventh one is opened, located at the top, all of them bursting with flames from the inside.

There are a bunch of coins and three random trinkets scattered in the room. The trinkets can be smelted by interacting with the sarcophagus at the top.

Notes

  • Since the mirror room that the door leads to does not appear on the map, it can be hard to find at first.
  • If Narcissus or Narcissus 2 are defeated in floor 1 of their respective chapters, the Mirror room will not spawn on floor 2 of said chapters.
    • This is important in case the player wants to discover the secret room, since bombing the mirror door and fighting Narcissus in the first floor causes it to no longer appear in the second floor.
  • The mirror door can not be destroyed by Boulders.

Trivia

  • Once the boss within is defeated, the floating mirror pieces seen outside the entrance will lie on the ground motionless to show that the boss has been conquered.
  • All of the mirror's secret rooms are a direct reference to a passage of the Divine Comedy.
    • Glacier's secret room references the 9th circle of hell, the place where treachery is punished, and where the devil lies trapped in a frozen lake called 'The Cocytus'.
    • Tomb's secret room references the 6th circle of hell, where heretics (the rebelious against god) are punished by being put inside flaming coffins.
