Bips

Bips are an enemy type added in Revelations Chapter 2. They are sand-themed enemies and show up in sandy rooms. Following the Sin Update, a lot of Bip variants have been given new attacks, such as the ability to pass through sandcastles by making short dives underneath.

Sandbip

Sandbips are the lowest-ranking Bip. They often wander around the room for a short time before loosely charging the player indefinitely. If a sandcastle is destroyed in the same room as one, it will avert its attention to where the sandcastle was ruined and sacrifice itself to rebuild it.

Trenchbip

A Trenchbip appears as a small spike in the ground. If the player gets near, Trenchbip will emerge and chase the player. If the player goes too far away, the Trenchbip will return to his original spot and go back down into the sand. Trenchbips are always posted around sandcastles, and if all sandcastles within a 3-tile square of the Trenchbip are destroyed, it will emerge and chase the player indefinitely.

Currently, the player does not need to slay all Trenchbips to clear a room.

Snipebip

Snipebips target the player with a red laser and unleash a long volley of sand tears. They sit on the corners of sandcastles, where they are invincible. If the corner they are sitting on is destroyed, they will become vulnerable, but will quickly relocate to another corner in the room. If no other corners are available, Snipebips will continue attacking on the ground level.

Bloatbip

Bloatbips track the player to spew a small arching cluster of sand projectiles when they get near.

Cannonbip

Reason: "To-do: Fact check: Are Demobips really required to destroy the obstacles that Cannonbips usually hide behind, or is it just generally more convenient and less expensive for the player to use the Demobips rather than expending their own limited supply of bombs (particularly without having an infinite-explosion generator, such as Ipecac or Dr. Fetus)?"

Cannonbips are stationary enemies that periodically fire Demobips at the player. When the Demobips land, a small burst of tears is sent out. Cannonbips are often placed behind destructible barriers that (assuming a lack of other explosives available to the player) require the Demobips they launch to bypass.

Demobip

Demobips loosely follow the player, exploding on contact or death, similar to Mullibooms.

Slambip

Slambips wander around aimlessly for a short time before targeting a sandcastle aligned horizontally or vertically with the player. They will then emerge on the other side of the sandcastle and slam their heads forward, creating a line of rock waves towards the player. This attack can be thwarted by destroying the sandcastle before they slam.

Sandbob

Sandbobs remain hidden in the ground until the player has destroyed at least 2 sandcastles. Afterwards, they will emerge and begin directly following the player. They periodically charge the player, rallying nearby Bips to charge with them, which gives some of the Bips different behavior. All Bips except for Snipebips, Cannonbips, and Slambips follow Sandbob over the player if there is a visible Sandbob in the room.

  • Sandbips: Charges in the direction they are facing for a short distance. They sometimes relocate to somewhere else in the room after charging.
  • Bloatbips: Charges in the direction they are facing for a short distance. They periodically fire a small Monstro's Lung type sand tear attack. They sometimes relocate to somewhere else in the room after charging.
  • Demobip: Charges in the direction they are facing for a short distance. They sometimes relocate to somewhere else in the room after charging.

Upon death, a Sandbob splits into 3 Sandbips, which will often aim to repair the sandcastles that were destroyed to summon the Sandbob.

Sandshaper

Sandshapers slowly and randomly move around the room. If they are damaged by any means, they will slam the ground, sending rock waves out in a variety of patterns:

  • Directly towards the player.
  • In a V shape towards the player.
  • In all directions around itself for a short distance.

Alternatively, they may spawn a group of sand projectiles from a nearby destroyed sandcastle if any are present and then throw them towards the player.
